Cason is our little man

Such a sweet loveable little man. He is the cuddler that I wanted and didn't get with Rayelle.

I just wanted to make note of some of his tendencies that make him Cason.

· when he gets sleepy or is sad, he wants to hold his own unique way. He likes to stick his finger in between two of yours.

· he likes to randomly help clean...except for when you want him to.

· he thinks it's especially fun to make random messes around the house.

· when he knows that he needs to say sorry, he will give hugs...since he won't talk.

· he loves to take care of Aspen.

· he consumes more dairy than any person I've ever heard of.

· he can also scream higher than must people

· he loves to hang out with me and Matt after-hours and watch movies and eat popcorn with us.

· he has a super cute and slightly mischievous smile

· he gets frightened at any loud sound or raised voice

· and anyone who knows him can feel his sweet spirit. He is such a softy and I love him for it! I'm so glad he chose to join our family!

Things I'm grateful for

It is so nice to just be able to sit back and count my blessings. Sometimes I can't even believe how blessed I am. And I know that most of the time I'm not as grateful as I should be. So I wanted to take this time to count my blessings and say "Thank you Heavenly Father". caring husband who works so hard to take care of our family beautiful children who remind me how fun exploring the world can be friends who listen and keep me sane when life gets overwhelming that keeps me connected to the outside world and helps make life easier
5.other moms/bloggers who inspire me to be a better person and mom
6.a home that provides for our needs and is in a neighborhood we love
7.that we were able to get a bigger vehicle for our growing family and it's been running great
8.all the small things that make life great that I can't name right now because it's 1:48 in the morning and I'm tired.  :-P

Thank you Heavenly Father for taking care of me and my incredible family!

Life is beautiful!

Today was definitely the best day that I have had for little while. Last night I re-committed to not yell at my children. I know that it makes a difference because I committed to it before and followed through for about a week. But a bad habit is a slippery slope. It's better to just stay away before you spiral down out of control. But today was nice.

I woke up and told myself to only use my kind voice. When the kids aren't behaving, instead if yelling I will simply put them in time-out. But only after I ask them nicely to fix the behavior.

I caught Rayelle telling at Cason and told her that we only use kind voices. I noticed that the kids along better today. Aspen was happier today. I felt more calm for the whole day.

It its such a blessing to have a calm and happy home. I know that this is a tough journey to stop yelling. But I know it is completely worth it.

Overprotective Big Sister

Rayelle is a girl who loves people. And if you know her, you know that she loves everyone and everyone is her friend.

She often times will wonder off in a store or run far ahead of me without a worry in the world.

So last week we took the kids to play at the mall since they have an inside tree house with a slide and some dinosaurs and rocks to play on. Rayelle thought it was funny to run all the way down the strip of the mall to the play land and not stop when we called after her.

When we finally caught up we made her sit on the bench for time-out and we tried to explain "stranger danger" to her. I'm never quite sure how much she soaks in when I talk to her. But apparently she got all of it.

So for the past week she has been freaking out when she can't see Cason. Or when he falls a little behind us when we're walking. She literally cries and/or screams and calls out Cason's name and asks where he's at. Last night when we were at a family dinner she wouldn't calm down until Cason sat next to her on the stairs to eat his ice cream. And she wouldn't come in the house because Cason was outside and she didn't want him to get lost...even though the rest of Matt's family was outside with him.

But she is like this constantly with him. She always has to know where he is. And panics when he might get lost. I'm not sure if this is a good thing or not. Is this a normal stage out did I scare/scar her too much?

Tomorrow's gotta be better than today...

We've all had one of those days when it seems like it can't possibly get any worse, yet it never gets any better. That was my kind of day.

I have had a cold for the last 3 days, so I woke up not feeling too great for starters. And Rayelle and Cason fight all day long. I had some errands that I needed to run since I haven't left the house since Tuesday. And Aspen was super fussy all day. With everything mixed together, I just felt overwhelmed and stressed.

I hate days like this for my own sake, but even more for my kids. When I'm stressed out I turn into a beast that I don't recognize or like. I find myself yelling at these little children that Heavenly Farther gave me, who don't even realize what they are doing is annoying or stressing me even more. They truly are innocent, beautiful little creatures who just want to have fun. And love me unconditionally.

And so I look forward to tomorrow...a new day where I get to start over. I get to try to be a better mom and a better me. Hopefully the universe is on my side.

But until then, I look forward to some good sleep.

Potty Training.....Again!

So we started the potty training process written Rayelle again this week. I felt horribly mislead when everyone told me that girls are easier to potty train. Obviously they never tried training a girl as stubborn as Rayelle. But she is finally following through with it this time!

On Tuesday we had a few errands to run. We had to get some ink for the printer and she had an accident outside the ink shop. Thankfully it was outside so I didn't have to clean that up...just her. Then we left there and got to Sprouts. As we walked in I asked her if she needed to use the potty and she said no. So we headed straight back to the produce and as we got there she told me she had an accident. It was only 20 seconds prior that I had asked her if she needed to potty. So I cleaned that up and put her in a diaper since she already used her extra panties.

But yesterday she only had one accident and today she hasn't has any! I think we're moving on to better days! And we'll only have 2 kids in diapers instead of 3.  :-)

It is so cute to see how excited she gets to put a sticker on her chart. And when she fills up a row she gets to pick a special price of candy. We let her pick some out at WinCo. And everyday when Matt gets home she is do excited to show him her chart. And when we went to run errands Matt asked her if she wanted to wear a diaper so she wouldn't have any accidents and she almost lost it and told him she's not a baby anymore! So proud of my big girl!
